RZ common mechanism & equipment

1Active torque split 4WD system

Immediately control the torque distribution to the four wheels in all road conditions and transmit it to the road surface without leaving any traction. It enables a direct operation feel in a wide speed range from starting to high speed. In the corner where a strong G is added, the road surface is firmly gripped with 4 wheels. By applying the optimum torque to the front and rear wheels, you can turn sharply and freely control the vehicle to the vehicle posture according to the driver's intention. By generously introducing various know-how fed back from WRC * 2 , Toyota's original sports 4WD has raised its athletic performance to a higher level.

2Newly developed 1.6L 3-cylinder turbo dynamic force engine (sports) * 3

We analyzed the engine usage area in the WRC competition and selected the bore x stroke (φ87.5 x 89.7) that can give the maximum performance in the rally regular range.

3Platform for sports 4WD

At GR Yaris, a platform featuring light weight and high rigidity is combined with the front, and a slightly larger platform is combined with the rear to secure the size, shape, rigidity, and mounting position required for sports 4WD. As a result, it receives the driving force of high-power 4WD and the input of high-grip tires, and realizes a suspension with excellent stability and controllability even under various driving conditions.

Sports meter (with meter illuminance control / GR mark)

Adopting a red pointer and red zone band display, pursuing visibility during sports driving. The high-definition 4.2-inch color TFT * 4 LCD screen mounted in the center displays front and rear wheel torque distribution, turbo boost pressure, various warnings, etc.

Sports seat

Sports seat made of fabric material. It ensures excellent support performance during sports driving.
